Our School

School Board

As an Independent Public School, Glengarry enjoys increased flexibility and responsibility in making localised decisions across various school operations, ultimately enhancing the outcomes for our students. Independent Public Schools, like Glengarry, establish a School Board—a pivotal decision-making body that significantly contributes to the school’s development.

The roles of our Glengarry School Board encompass

  • Collaborating with the Principal and the community to achieve optimal outcomes for students.
  • Offering a diverse range of experiences, advice, and expertise to the Principal, actively participating in key decisions related to policy-making, enforcement, and school reporting.
  • Promoting the school to the community.

Our School Board office bearers consist of the Principal, three staff members, five parents/carers, and one community member. Staff members are elected from and by the school staff, bringing their educational expertise to the table. Parents/carers are elected from and by their peers, contributing their experiences as parents/carers within our school and reflecting the broader school community’s views and context. In the event of a vacancy on the School Board, the Principal will call for nominations and, if necessary, conduct an election. Following the tallying of votes, the Principal communicates the outcome to all candidates and the school community. Staff and parent representatives serve a three-year term but may be reappointed for additional terms. Our School Board convenes between four to six times per year.

I am pleased to nominate for a parent position on the 2026 Glengarry Primary School Board. I believe that a good primary education can positively influence the people our students grow into, and the memories they make today really stay with them. Since moving to WA 18 months ago, Glengarry PS has been instrumental in helping our family settle into a new life here. Our boys have really thrived and settled here so quickly so to have the opportunity to give something back to a school community that has been so welcoming is really special for me.
I am a Royal Navy veteran and Safety Engineer with a lot of experience across different industries, through this experience I have learnt to consider situations logically and apply outside the box thinking to reach positive solutions, I hope this experience adds value to the great work the Board do.
I am excited to contribute to how our brilliant school is governed and play a bigger part in the wider Glengarry PS community.

I am excited about the opportunity to be on the school board and look forward to sharing my passion for education. I am an experienced Mathematics Teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience across secondary schools in New Zealand, London and Australia. For more than a decade, I have been a Head of Learning Area in an independent school here in Western Australia, where I work closely with staff, students and families to support student achievement and wellbeing. Early last year I completed a Masters Degree in Education (Leadership and Management), and I will bring a strong understanding of governance, strategic planning and educational best practice to the role.

I am passionate about schools being the best that they can be for our children, and I like to ensure that decisions are thoughtful, informed and in the best interests of students and families. As a parent of three children currently at Glengarry I am deeply invested in its continued success and future direction and I am really looking forward to the opportunity to be able to work with the school board to ensure Glengarry continues to thrive.

I am a Year 3/4 teacher at Glengarry Primary School and have been part of the Glengarry community for ten years, working mainly in the middle primary years.
I enjoy creating highly engaging learning environments where students can show their understanding in different ways. I have been closely involved in our journey to becoming a 1:1 iPad school since 2018 and continue to use technology to support creativity and student voice in the classroom.
As a member of the Literacy Committee, I contribute to whole-school planning and enjoy supporting and working collaboratively with colleagues to build consistency across year levels.
I am proud to be part of the Glengarry community. There is a strong focus on learning, along with a genuine commitment to supporting every student at their point of need. I value finding ways to help all students access the curriculum while also extending them to achieve their best. As a Board Member, I represent staff perspectives and contribute to thoughtful decision-making that supports our students and wider community.
I feel fortunate to contribute to a school that values both strong relationships and high-quality learning, and I look forward to supporting the continued growth and success of our Glengarry community.

Jasmin Just (Staff)
Hi my name is Jasmin Just, I have a Bachelor of Teaching, a Masters of Education, and I’m a Level 3 classroom teacher. Since beginning my career in 2007, I have worked in both rural and remote settings, building a broad range of experience across diverse school communities. I have been a member of the Glengarry Primary School community since 2014, teaching across Year 2 to Year 7, and currently teach Year 3. In addition to my classroom role, I am the Numeracy Leader at the school, where I support whole school approaches to mathematics teaching and learning. I am passionate about improving student outcomes, particularly in numeracy, and value the importance of strong, collaborative relationships between school and community to support student success. As a current Board member, I am committed to strengthening these relationships and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Glengarry Primary School.
