The Glengarry School library is a welcoming and stimulating environment
for the school community. They can find resources and technology that
will aid them to develop lifelong learning skills and an interest in
reading and knowledge.
The library program is an integral part of the total curriculum and supports
the educational goals of the community. The staff encourages the enjoyment
and habit of reading and provide materials that stimulate and promote
knowledge and literary appreciation.
In this information age, the program provides the opportunities for the
students to learn how to identify, locate, select, organise and present
information.
The selection of materials supports the educational programs and the
students’ interests and levels. The staff endeavours to keep
the variety of materials and technologies in an organised and easily
accessible way and in a neat and usable form. The selection is an ongoing
process ensuring that the materials are appropriate and of educational
value.
With the co-operation of the school community the school library is integral
to the educational process.
